I am going through a black and white phase just now and I am just experimenting with some previous uploads and would like your opinion. I have been asked by a hotel to come up with about 15 large framed prints for a new restaurant, all in black and white with various toning.

Give me your honest opinion, imagine this print with black frame and double white card mount 30"x20"

Thanks
Douglas

I feel vampires breathing down my neck! Yikes! Extremely moody and I love the touch of yellow here...Is this a haunted hotel?? ...Oooooo what a cool idea! Congratulations on your new job I think this will be a real eye catcher!

I really like it especially the touch of yellow. I'm sure this would look good on print, however the grass-scape at the front needs a bit more punch or maybe burn a tad.

hi douglas.
i can imagine it on my wall.

fantastically moody. your composition is flawless. imho.

does the hotel need any bw macro shots, by any chance. lol :-)
Brian

Hi Douglas,

Very striking image you have produced here. The pov you have chosen leaves me with a feeling of pending doom, like when you are standing beside a skyscraper, you look up and it looks as if it's falling!!!

Fantastic work, I'm sure the hotel will love it.

Steve.

I think it is stunning Doug. Excellent lighting and overall mood. I like how you isolated the toning to the one spot in the sky, very effective.

Well composed.

TFS,
David

Hi Douglas,if you require our opinion your in bad trouble my friend:)

I think if you've been asked for 15 prints, they have already recognized your talent with a camera. For whats it's worth I think this image will be vibrant that size with a white matt & a black museum frame & surrounded by another 14 images with the same vibrance, will be viewed by many patrons of this restuarant & hopefully by some, that want to purchase them.
what is the name of the restuarant Doug, something really Scottish I hope.

Hi Douglas
Congratulations on you commission to provide your images. Since your asking the yellow is distracting for me - I'm an all the way B & W sort of guy. A very minor thing, I'd move the castle just a bit to the left.
The texture on the old wall is well shown and the sky as a BG is right on.

Dan

Hello Douglas,
you've captured a beautiful mood around this castle.
Very good composition. I especially like the contrasting sky in the background. Very well done.
Regards
Helmut

Hi Doug.
I like the mood and history captured. Skip the yellow would be my honest opinion. What about cropping a bit more from the left and bottom.
This all sounds harsh but is not meant to be, really. It is a great scene captured well. TFS. Karin
