[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Just experimenting with something different for me, my wife received a beautiful bouquet of flowers at the weekend and I thought I would photograph them, did not work out too well so tried taking this single flower.
Set on a table against a black background and using natural daylight I was able to capture this.

Converted in Nikon capture to a Tiff file.
Edited in Paint Shop Pro X2.
Rotated the image so that it was vertical.
Cropped the image.
Created a new layer and cut out the background (some shadows could be seen on the background).
Created another layer of solid black.
Merged layers.
Resized for TL.
Added a border.

marvelously sharp image with f22, every edges of petals and stamen. so do the lighting, shadows and colors. impressive macro, tfs, Derek

Excellent control of the exposure in the whites - very subtle colour and detail in the petals, sharp detail and vibrant colours in the stamen. PP work has finished this off nicely.

Beautiful!

You are obviously mastering your wonderful new equipment: this picture is superb.

Techinically, it leaves absolutely nothing to be desired - perfect exposure, wonderful colours and incredible sharpness. Are you already finding a difference with the full-size sensor?

Yet, despite the sharpness and clarity, you have achieved a lovely softness in the image with the lighting from natural daylight.
