Hello Everyone,

I was worrying about this one since the weather has been pretty poor for photography recently. Happily, yesterday we had a respite, and the sun shone for a significant part of the day.

Because I was walking, I took my little casio with me to record the scene.

This is 5 mins from home, walking at quite a brisk pace. It was quiet, just the sound of the odd bird and a tractor's engine somewhere in the distance. The main features were the drystone walls which curved away across the field and along the roadside. These walls are such an integral part of the area around Lancashire and North Yorkshire that I thought they were an interesting aspect to record.

Many thanks for stopping by.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph. :-)

Hi Beverley
I love the compostion/POV
Colours and DOV spot on!
Only thing I would change would be the twig in the right corner...if I find that while framing up the photo and I don't like some of the foliage I will remove it before shooting.

Regards
Tracey

i like how you made a decent composition out of an ordinary view just shows it is not just the subject but how one perceives and interprets the scene.

a good capture. a nice view for a drive home. looks peaceful and calm. NO TRAFFIC??? well composed. TFS

Hi Bev

Nice scenic view.
Makes a change to see a blue sky, been dull and raining here most days.
Maybe if you had moved slightly to the left it would have improved the composition by removing the branch and the wall would not have been cut off.

Hello Beverley, I miss the dry stone walls living here in South Yorkshire! I used to live in West Yorks. where there are plenty of walls just like this.
A good subject to focus on.Good sharp detail, and I like the way the walls lead into the shot.
Just one little thing, on my screen your sky seems a bit OE.
Nevertheless a pleasant scene.
Regards Jean.

Hello Bev

What a lovely view this is, nice sharp detail and a good lead through with the stone wall.lovely natural colours that are well saturated.

TFS and for joining in the theme

kind regards Helen

Hello, Bev.

A lovely shot. I think you rather like dry stone walls (as do I) and you certainly make the most of them in your pictures. This one is no exception - well composed and exposed with nice colours. My only niggle would be that the sky looks perhaps a tad too bright and on my monitor has a slight greenish cast - or, on the other hand, it could just be my ageing eyes!

You certainly live in a beautiful part of the World!

Excellent!

Best Wishes,

John.

Hi Bev,no wonder you guy's are all fit, with all this scenic landscapes only 5 min from your home, who wouldn't want to hike amongst it. I like these walls of stones, they have stood the test of time,& not a bit of cement to bind them.

So typically English Bev and well captured and composed. Good colour and lovely detail not only in the rocks but the grasses behind the wall,
David

Thanks for the double visit. I had to play taxi and the fog shot was on the way hone Bev, 2 minutes tops out of a warm car and I was wearing a heavy coat :)

Hi Bev - a beautiful scene you've snapped for us here.. Very nice composition.. It's difficult lighting with the contrast between the bright sky and the shadows.. I was thinking that you could have just burnt the sky in a little (pp) to enhance the blue and make the clouds more visible.
Cheers

Hi Beverley

What a beautiful walk on a sunny - just 5 minutes away. the curving rock wall in my favorite elements here. Good DOF for clarity front to back of the image.

Dan

Hi Bev,
What a view for only a 5 mins walk from home. I like your composition with the drystone wall drawing the eye into the photo. The rolling hills are very inviting and I am sure that you explore them a lot.

Niek
