McFly!
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
No not the group but a fly taken in my garden in the Scottish Borders. I am not too sure about the background here, the fly was sitting on some pampas grass.
Using Paint Shop Pro X2
Rotated the image.
Cropped the image.
Increased saturation very slightly.
High pass sharpen.
Resized for TL.
Added a border. |

Hi Derek,
A great POV of the fly shows all the colours that make up this beastie perfectly. I see what you mean about the background it looks kind of like hair. I have to say that with my eyesight I couldn't even see the fly so couldn't have got this pic. Well done and TFS
Jon
Hi derek
Nice crisp and sharp detail on the fly - JOn is right - it does look like hair, at first I thought it was on someone's head lol. Good crop and detail on the eye which is the main thing
cheers

In principle, not a bad macro. But the background is quite busy (you did not have a choice there) and the main issue here is sharpness: you were way into the region the lens is dominated by diffraction. The optimum sharpness for the very good lens you use is at 5.6 or 8. That of course might not be the optimum DOF but you stopped down here way to much. Have a look at the blur index for your lens and play with the F# slider on the left.

Tibi
hi big guy.
ain't much wrong with this.
i would be proud to have it in my gallery.
the pampas grass is part of the image as much as the fly is.
