[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi
A simple lonely (dead!) tree out on a favourite walk of ours.

Trees like this are excellent as 'raptor' posts where birds of prey can settle to eat their latest meal. Also act as good look-out posts for the next poor target.

Forestry operators often leave trees or posts such as these after felling expecially for the birds of prey as they help to control the pest population e.g. voles when new saplings are replanted in the area.

The sky was very grey behind the tree so i converted to sepia and added an orange hue for warmth. I am pleased with the result so I hope you like it.

Hi Linzi,
Wonderful composition with typical autumn colours. I like the way that you represented this subject with the cloudy sky in the background. Pretty unusual colour, but look great in this composition. The branches are in interesting shape.

Nice silhouettes against an interesting background colour - reminds me of an old lithograph print.

nice capture Linzi looks realy good against the background of the c loudy sky tfs

Striking image with the brown tones and skeletal tree limbs. I just wonder if it could have been neater at the bottom, so instead of multiple branches leading out of the image, all the branches could have converged onto one trunk to give a sense of completeness?
