Hi Gordon,
A wonderful moody photo where the limited range of color and the dark sky really give it that winter feeling. I like the composition a lot. With the rock in the FG and the shoreline to lead the eye to the horizon. I am surprised to see a lack of sharpness on the rock with your chosen aperture. Did you focus it too far up the composition?

Even from the thumbnail it's apparent that the photographer is pretty well schooled in traditional photography - if that's an allowable term! ;)

A classic composition - and one which shines through despite the rather dreay weather. (Bit of rarity on TL).

Classic composition in a well executed landscape shot - the foreground detail mirrors the hills in the background perfectly.

Nice traditionally composed image. The rock is placed just right and provides a good foreground interest, the other rocks form a good diagonal, and the sky is well handled. Good image.
