Nice photo - I like the mono, I think the blur at the edges comes on a bit too harshly. Maybe if it was more of a gentle lead in if you know what I mean!
Anyway, I think you've caught the light beautifully in the woods here.

A very sucessfull experiment it is too. Excellent shot with good tones and hues. Nice lead through with the pathway and this lovely blur frame gives an almost dreamy feel to the view. Nice work.

Your PP experiment worked well, I love the colour choice, love the lighting - but I think the gaussian blur is too hard, maybe a bit softer?

Linzi,

(about the fifth time I've tried to open this shot and I've finally got more than the top 2cm!!!!)

Now I'm here - I quite like the colouration, which seems to work pretty well for this scene. I understand the thought behind blurring the edges but, as others have noted, it's a bit heavy handed and, for some unknown reason, has added an unpleasant criss-cross pattern to the blurred areas.

As it's taking 10 minutes to open every shot on TL this evening, I've used a few minutes knocking up a workshop instead!

p.s. to be fair, my workhop's not very good - but the principle of creating the effect in this way is, I think, pretty sound.

This image is enjoyable to relate to, the feeling of the crisp frosty air and the blur around the edges that adds to the atmosphere. Love the sepia tones and the light quality, with wonderful contrasts and textures/details. The frost is beautiful!! Well done:)
