[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is Cauldshiels Loch near Melrose, took a drive up there today, a place I have not been for many years.
Used to go canoeing her with the scouts over 30 years ago.

Took 5 images and then merged these in Photomatix.
Edited in Paint Shop Pro X2.
Straightened the horizon.
Cropped the image.
Used Histogram Adjustment.
Removed a couple of spots using clone brush (must clean lens).
Resized for TL

Like this one Derek, great detail from the foreground to the far distance.

The way your foreground curves into the shot works really well.

Composition is spot on love the clouds.

Seems a cracker of a lens, hopefully my next purchase, would you recommend it?

Cheers

Peter

Beautiful landscape view.

Hi Derek,
A really nice shot of a lovely area.
I like the colours nice and sharp.
Well done and TFS.
Regards
Jon

Lovely shot - the light is beautiful. I must try some of those overlapping shots sometime.
Regards David

Good evening, Derek!
Splendid, peaceful photo of this Scotish Loch, the exposition of the sky and clouds are especially lovely. You used the light very well, saturation and levels are fantastic. Great nature photo! TFS.
PS: I have a few photos from Scotland in my warehouse, too. Soon I'll post them. :)

Greetings,
Kristof

hi derek,
you are getting to grips with this hdr stuff. too technical for me!!!

it does make a difference to the images. this one has added intensity in the clouds which has made them more dramatic.
i look forward to seeing more of these.
Brian

hi derek
nice capture hdr works well, but imho.. you could loose the lower shoreline and the tree to the left, they do frame it but have not toned with the hdr, either that or a little dodge/burn in post capture photoshop.
cracking set-up d700 with that lens, think the D2Xs will go to get one ( too much FX kit now to keep the DX body), the D3 just a bit too heavy at times and the D4 is too far off at the moment

tfs
Rob
