Sunrise Over Selkirk
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
After waking up to grey overcast skies most mornings I woke up to a bright morning and a nice sunrise a couple of weeks ago.
Took this into the sun so it is quite bright at the centre at the bottom.
Using Paint Shop Pro X2.
Cropped the image.
Increased saturation and played with curves, not to sure of the settings that I used.
Resized for TL.
Added a border |

Amazing sky Derek and love the silhouette in the foreground.
Like the way you have given the sky centre stage in the image.

Hi Derek.
Very interesting photo. Is it HDR? I have one that looks like this one and I made it in hdr. Anyway, let talk more about your photo now. I like the pov and compo. Oppostition of the clouds and land, yet synergy between them is something that made my attention. TFS and I hope you'll come and visit my gallery.
Sincerely,
David
This is a great photo
Love all the colours

I think you would've gotten a better result if you had exposed -1.0 or so. Besides the obvious OE on the bottom, the upper cloud layers seem a tad bright, too.
I've taken plenty of similar shots (none uploaded here yet), and I can tell you from experience that the best thing to do is to set your metering to spot mode and take your reading off an area close to the setting sun.
