| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
it was my day off today so i thought that i would make the most of the chilly weather.
i left early to go to Ardrossan and walk back to Saltcoats along the beach.
this was taken in one of the old 'saltcots'.
these are from where Saltcoats gets its name.(or so i have been told)
Saltcoats was a major distributor for sea salt. it was stored in these 'cots' and then transported all over the world.
i hope you like this. |

What I like about your pics Brian is that they are "moody"....they have a quality that evokes emotion! You are very skilled at that! Love the BW high key look here, almost like an antique photo!

I like the composition here but find the exposure harsh, especially to the left where the picture merges into the white frame. There also seems to be a lot of noise in the picture, which I'm not sure is an intentional part of your PP work (I'm guessing there was a significant amount as you classed this as HPP - just not clear from the photographers note what that PP work was). This is one of those pictures that I'd really like to see in colour at sunrise or sunset.
Thanks for sharing
Mark
Hi Brian,
Great representation of chilly weather with this black and white seashore composition. I like its panoramic crop and the mysterious mood it suggests. The left part beacame a bit too bright in my opinion, but that's just my personal point of view. Overall a nice scene, TFS!
Best regards,
Kristof
Hi Brian,
Mmmmm...I'm not sure about this posting. The sky on the left to washed away and the overall view is quite noisy. Nevertheless the composition is inspiring and the idea wonderfull.

HI Brian,
Interesting photo with all of the high contrast. I do think that I would have chosen a black frame in lieu of the white (more contrast with the sky).
Do you still have delicious sea salt to purchase?
Lisa
Brian, what I think is that your image is very well composed, I also like your choice of frame, and I even like the "grainy" feel of it, in spite of what the others think, and I absolutely agree with Linda on the "mood" part! ;)
Take care,
Diana
