[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi all

Well after a day of rain and crappy weather I decided to have a look out with the camera last night in Durham City. Durham is only a 15 minute drive away and as I was enjoying my photography so much I lost track of time, it was somewhere near 2.30am when i finally returned home, however, on account of a lot of drunks about since it was friday I have decided to return soon but maybe midweek next time.

PP Shot in RAW, converted, levels tweaked, a little saturation for a warmer brighter light, sharpened.

You captured the golden light really well against the bricks Dean.
I love the balance of light and shadow in this image.
It's good to see the path leading up the right side.
Nicely done.
- Vincent

Dean, you would be safe enough even on a Friday night, can't see anyone wanting to steal a Canon :-)

Only kidding.

Love this shot though very atmospheric, timeless in fact could have been taken fifty years ago, apart from the modern doors.

The light really enhances the final image and the composition works well with the steps leading your eye into the picture.

Peter

Hi Dean brilliant night photography. Good contrast of light & shadow. The golden light on the bricks & on the street looks good. TFS - Regards - Adil.

Hi Dean,

Nice detail and lovely warmth, lovely reflections on the cobbles as they head up to the far right.

I like all the complimenting brick and stone textures. The angle of the stairs and road lead the eye to the back light. The warming light you added worked well. Very crisp. TFS. Karin

Nice shot Dean!
I like the composition and its golden tone.
Good quality. Impressive.
Best,
Iza

Ahh this is super moody and dark Dean! I know this is really a fun shot to do, I love night work. I wonder too how this would look in BW or sepia! Even more mysterious! Nice work, excellent exposure!

Excellent Dean! Beautiful light. A night scene well captured. TFS. Regards, Pat.

Excellent! Love the mood here. The cobblestone street makes your eyes wander upwards to the unknown.

Very fine light-managing,and this is a perfect example of Britain way of life.
Well done Dean!

Hi Dean !
this is absolutely cracking. Crop, exposure and detail are outstanding.
Very beautiful handling of the low-light conditions. I like the way the amber tungsten light affects the cobbles in the distance and the brick work closer to us on the left.
Well done. Best regards, Daniel

P.S: I'm glad this was in glorious colour (and not B&W ! hee hee :-)

This sort of a big frame.. is a proof of an attempt to brag about yourself .. I see it s an effort done in conceit. The photo itself was good but you ve ruined everything. Therefore I dont like it. You need to improve your thinking.
