[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another unusual view taken of the Eildon Hills from Cauldshiels Loch near Melrose.

Loved the sky in this one but had to use a little HDR to show what I had seen at the time.

Must admit the old HDR has done it's thing even with an ISO setting of 800 (forgot to switch back to 200)
:-)

Hi Peter

Nice shot of the Eildons, like the details of the clouds here.
The number of times I have forgotten to change the ISO as well.

Hi Peter,

With a result like that does it matter what iso you were in. This is a great shot of the eildons as you say taken from an different viewpoint than is normal. I like the sky it is great the colours are brilliant and the details are very sharp. I took a couple of good shots from the saddle between hareshaw hill and peat law the other day. Well done.

Regards
Jon

Hi Peter,
The sky is great and the treatment works well.
The hills have a purplish tinge - must be 'bonnie bloomin heather'
cheers
Jack

The upper sky looks just a little over done, in relatio to the lower area to the left of the hills. and in general the lower third looks lighter?
nice viewpoint a change from the normal eildons images.\
RE the "high" iso, just because its above your normal range, it stil works especially with the D3, I always use a workflow that involves setting the camera back to a default setting eg mode, iso etc.... when it gets put back in the case, that way it is always ready to go, but 800iso is not a big issue

Hi Peter

A dramatic tonal range in the sky, with excellent colour & sharpness. The natural, contoured diagonal of the sloping landscape, gives superb dynamism. Tfs!

hi Peter realy like this one good hdr work on this one but its a lovely scenic shot
cheers bryan

You have great perspective here and you presented this very nicely. Color tones are wonderful. You captured a great view.

Helo Peter,
lovely colours and that sky was certainly worth recording. I have not tried HDR, maybe I should figure out how to.

Bev

Lovely shot of the braw purple hills. In fact I like the colours and lighting for everything in this shot. We really have some fine photoghers from the Scottish borders here in TL
TFS
