Out for a walk around the town yesterday, took a shot for all the Souters out there (people from Selkirk).

This is the silver bridge down Riverside Road, remember well standing here in 1977 when the water was lapping over the walkway.

That was the year that the main road bridge was washed away.

Used a little tone mapping on the image but nothing else.

Hi Peter
Most people would walk straight passed this bridge without giving it a second thought, let alone take a picture. You've made something simple look great. The colours rich and the POV is very good too.

Hi Peter,

Good shot with warm color of the low sun contrasting with the blue in the sky. Simple but effective composition base on the rule of 1/3. Sharpness is excellent, and large tonal range give excellent details in high light as well as in deep shadows. Nice work and TFS.

Nice to see ou back posting images, went out myself today... all the way to Lindisfarne!!
nice image and the tone mapping just boosts the colour and detail in the sky
Your getting on well with the D3 now.... ( when you going for the D3X?)

Hello Peter,

The sun was out in force in England, yesterday. It looks as if this weather is far better than that in the summer!

You have used the light perfectly.
There is a great contrast between light and shade.
The tree is well placed off-centre and the bridge links the two opposing areas of the shot.
Lovely colours and details.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Peter,

Lovely colours and nice detailed sky, we could do with more of this weather with a dash of snow.

Hi,
Nice one. An interesting view. Very well composed, fills the frame with fine detail and an informative note. Well done. What's 'tone mapping'? Thanks,
Dougie.

hello Peter,

Hi Peter,
your beautiful land must be a sort of a paradise for the landscape photography, and here you are sharing with us a fine presentation of this fantastic place. I really like the warm tones created by the tone mapping, colors looks perfectly balanced with great saturation. Composition works well throughout with the tree on the right framing the lot in an excellent way. Beautiful view and very good pictures indeed!
Take care,

Ele
