[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
These days modern farmers don’t mess about, or waste any time, when preparing the ground for planting crops. Within a couple of days, using three powerful tractors, this field of grass in our village was ploughed, harrowed and rotovated, so that a crop of maize for silage [animal feed] could be sown. This was eight months ago.

Now after the maize was harvested, the field has just been ploughed again.

This panoramic shot is cropped from one image.

Taken as RAW: converted to JPEG with Raw Therapee [free software]. Final PP in PhotoShop 7 and FastStone.

Exposure: 1/240s: F5.6: ISO 200: 130mm focal length.

Hello,

Nice to see you back again. Like me, you seem to have been less active here over the past month or so: I have had the excuse of work but you have also had the excuse of lousy weather.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the first panorama shot of yours which has not been a composite picture - i.e. a merging of two or more images. Considering that, it is amazingly sharp and clear. The composition is very good too with the trio of near-identical tractors and the colours are excellent.

It really is amazing to see the might of these diesel-powered monsters. A nice picture of a ploughman with his plough and shire horse (perhaps captured at an agricultural fair) would make an excellent contrast to this image.

Very Best Wishes,

John.

Hello Peter,a lovely scene with lots of colour, benefiting from a sunny day.The gulls and other birds are much more apparent in the LP and add energy to the picture.
I like it.It is sharp, and the panoramic format is very appropriate.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hello Peter,
hah summertime! This could be Dumfriesshire. I like this panoramic composition which is emphasized by the line of three tractors. I can't help feeling that it is just a teensy bit oer saturated though? But you are forgiven as the warm colours are just what is required in mid January.
