I've been waiting for a chance to post this one.

Part of a WW2 re-enactment display at the West Wilts Show, held every two years in Trowbridge Park.

This German tank was a reconstructed machine, with a turret and gun built on the lower half of a Russian T ? tank.

There seem to be as many re-enactment groups who like to dress up in German uniforms as do in British ones.

Taken as JPEG: PP in FastStone and PS 7.

Hello Peter,a good PoV of the tank.
I assume that the blue smoke is from the exhaust?
I think that I would have been tempted to clone out the metalwork in the left hand corner. But I imagine that there wasn't a lot of room for taking the shots you would have wished.
Anyway, nice one.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hello, Peter.

A great picture of a german Panzer and well worth the wait you have had to find a suitable opportunity to post it!

The lighting and the contrasts and colours here really make the vehicle stand out from its surroundings. Old Rommel there really looks the part too! The engine fumes emanating from under the tank add to the atmosphere.

A great picture!

Kind Regards,

John.

A great shot, Peter, with the tank and its protruding gun perfectly placed in the frame.

I love the additional details that you have captured which all help to give your shot a context.

I would have been tempted to clone out the distracting rails? in the f/g.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
We once saw a re-enactment of Dad's Army when we were on holiday in Lincolnshire. I pointed out to my husband how much a small balding man resembled Captain Mainwaring. It was only on the following day, when we saw posters for the event that we realised that he was meant to be Captain Mainwaring!

Bonsoir Peter,

Original subject for the Friday theme. Pretty sure he will make his way in the traffic. Nice work and TFS.

Alain

Hi Peter,
Oh, how I would love one of these in Auckland's traffic. That would sort the men from the boys.
You did well to get such a detailed shot, I know it's not easy in those circumstances.
Personally I would have cropped the left to the centre of the tree trunk, and cloned out the piece of steel.
Cheers,
Peter.

hello Peter,
this is well composed and there are lots of interesting details. Not sure I understand these re-enactment groups though. After you've dressed a couple of times wouldn't the novelty wear off? And as for dressing up as gerries? no...just don't get it!
