Today was glorious in Central Scotland: very cold, very litle wind and almost unbroken sunshine. I took this one from a minor road between Carmichael and Thankerton using a wide-angle lens in an attempt to show the lovely foreground snow which had only been blemished by (presumably) rabbits.

The hill in the distance is Tinto, the highest hill in Lanarkshire at 2,320 feet. I have posted other pictures of this hill from other viewpoints on TE and TL in the past.

Shot using a circular polariser in RAW and converted and edited in PSE6.

Très joli paysage enneigé. J'aime la profondeur de champs, la luminosité intense de la neige, la composition avec la barrière et les traces de pas (de ski?) parallèles. Bravo et merci pour le partage.

Hi John,
Good perspective,bautiful composition,well done.
Best regards,
Ralf

Hello John
Such simple beauty here. Stunning colours. The wide angle has captured the fg details wonderfully, yes I think these were rabbits! on account of thier seemingly random movements. Just one thing...maybe it could do with a degree or two CW?
Regards, Les

Hi John,

Great view of a lovely area and now it is covered with snow even nicer. I used to drive by this area when I worked for Cemex on my way to Hyndford Quarry. There are nice colours and great details well done.

Regards
Jon

hello John,
how I envy you to be out on a day like this. I was stuck in all day on a training day ;(
You've done a decent job exposing the snow (never easy) and I like that deep blue sky.I think maybe there is a bit of a tilt but never mind, it could anyway just be the lie of the land. Most of all I like the tracks, there's something magical about them that raises the spirit.
regards,
Bev

Hello John, this is nice shot of winter snow. The colors look great! NIce show of light and shadow!
Very impressive indeed!

Have a Great Day Ahead!
Cheers,
Shubhi:)

hi john,

'jings that's braw'
(a quote from paw broon)

a lovely composition, john.
the tracks and fence lead you in and out of the image.
the lighting has been nicely handled.

tfs.

Hi,
Ah...The Lanarkshire Massif! Isn't this weather great with sunshine, snow and wall to wall skies! Good exposure on the snow with the fence nicely arranged to vanish to a focal point. Good detail in the shadows too. Nice one, thanks.
Dougie.

Hello John,

A great day for you to be out and about with your camera. The snow down here turned to slush before we had much sun.

The fence makes a powerful lead in - straight to your favourite hill. The rabbit tracks provide detail for what might otherwise have been a less interesting patch of virgin snow.

Blue, from the inky darkness in the sky at the top left, to the subtle shadows in the snow, reigns supreme in the image.

Lovely!

Regards,

Peter.

A lovely view John, the lead-in lines of the fence and the rabbit tracks are perfect for your composition.
I can almost smell the fresh air!
Tinto hill looks like a good hill to climb[?] Are those trees on the side of the hill?
The wide angle lens served you well.
Tfs, regards Jean.
