[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was taken on the world tour of Cumbria and the Lakes that myself and Derona took as I think we went to about every destination in the area but it was braw as we say. At Workington harbour there are several statues depicting various parts of the area history I was taken by this one. I am not sure of the pp work carried out except that it is one shot converted to jpeg and I used Essential HDR. I hope that you like it.

Hi Jon
I do like your subject matter and what you have tried to do with it using HDR, but there is not enough contrast between the gunner and his background. I do like the POV for the guns though and how they are lined up neatly in the row.
Do you have a version of Paintshop Pro? In that software there is a really quick way of obtaining a very similar effect you have here - the use of the "Clarify" tool repeatedly will do this for you.
Nice pic.

Hello,

superbe iamge, quel effet tu as donné à ton image, Génail, ce NB avec la touche de couleur sur le canon et les boulet, de toute beauté.

bravo et amitié

Nicou

Great job, Jon. Wonderful effect! Good
composition and fine presentation. TFS!

Best wishes,
Bruno

Hi Jon,
I love the effect that you have created here. It make out the subject to be a mad man, that's the feeling I get when I see him. Lot's of imagination to you.

Susan

Hi, Jon,
this is an odd one, alright, but strangely interesting. I love those strange colors and all the patterns and details. The diagonal line from one set of canons to the next is really nice and the sky looks crazy. Cool shot! Many thanks and kind regards,
Shelly

Hi Jon,great effect & suits the theme perfectly, well done.

Ron

Hello Jon,by choosing to highlight the figure in a slightly different colour, imo you have created drama.
Good textures.
I like the way that the cannons are all lined up in your composition.
Good PP work.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hey Jon - great shot - interesting PP effect, creates drama. Stood out well in the gallery, congratulations!

Hi Jon, very heavy PP work - it reminds me of using clarify on PSP.

The colours are very faint, but show up enough to be noticed. But I think I would prefer more space in from of the cannon and less on the left.

Janice

hello Jon. Interesting shot. I would tend to agree with Janice in as much as placing the person nearer to the edge gives him more impact and it would be interesting to see where the canon is firing ie the target. Ive been to Workington but never made it as far as the harbour.
Warm regards
David

Jon

Interesting composition and HDR work. Almost looks like an old fashioned postcard.
