| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is Paul Pratt. Paul set of on his Triumph motorcycle from England in 1966, circumnavigating the globe, returning in 1979. He travelled through Europe, Asia, Australasia, North, Central and South America. His bike still goes and he rides it regularly, and gives talks and slide shows all over the country.
This is my first ever attempt at taking a portrait of a stranger. I got talking to Paul and asked if I could take a picture of him. I have laways found this very difficult in the past - I am incredibly shy of taking pictures of other people. This was also while I was testing out my new camera - I barely knew how to control the thing!
Anyway, let me know what you think - critique me hard, whether you think it is a good or bland portrait or whatever. |

This is an excelent portrait, and it does convey the joy a man with such history must feel deep inside him.
Before I read your note, I thought he was an ex fighter or something...now I know I was right. No man would go through such an experience without being a fighter within himself.
Very good portrait. Keep on.

Spectacular portrait. He's relaxed even though you may not have been. The lighting, lines and wonderful expression are perfectly composed. Well done.
