[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The pier at Southwold in Suffolk. Built as a landing stage for steamships from London carrying Victorian tourists to Southwold. Originally 623 feet long - a series of mishaps befell the pier, it was struck by a mine during the war, and fires and storms took their toll until the pier ended up only 60’ long.
It was privately purchased in 1987 and rebuilt, with a series of entertainments on board, as is now a very pleasant attraction for the town.
Resized, sharpened and slight pp using Redynamix.

Hie Leslie,

Very dynamic shot you got there. The POV is good and the seawave added some value to it.

Hong

I love the way you used the shore line in combination with the pier. It creates a wicked golden mean and is really pleasing to the eye. Great job using the angels to compliment eacother.

Hi Leslie,
Such a dramatic shot, I love it! Deep rich golden sand, with perfect timing of the foamy white water rolling in. Very nicely composed. Impressive photo.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Leslie,

Southwold is on my "locations list" since leaving Kent and moving up this way, so I'm glad to see how it looks with the Sigma 10-20mm as I use this lens as well.

I like this angle, and the on coming wave, but there is something a bit psychologically unsettling about the picture that I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe the cold blue tones perhaps, or the distorted perspective of the pier. I don't know.

Leslie
Belle composition et très joli travail de PP. Beau travail!

Great clarity,POV and the cloud details top it off really well

Hi Leslie,

What an effective POV used here. The water looks like it is still rushing up the beach. Great action. Good perspective too and metering. Well done and tfs,

Martyn
