or even crash landings!
The Gannets flying at Bempton at the weekend were amazing. This juvenille/adult pair managed to just miss eachother most times but once in a while came very close. The picture shows the difference in plumage between the adult and youngster, chicks in their first year start off dark brown gradually lightening over 4 years to the adult plumage of white with yellow head/neck and black wing tips - the youngster looks like it might be in its second/third year.

Great picture. They seem to be gliding more that flying. I saw 3 birds looking just like those about a week ago and was disapointed I didn't have my camera to capture the moment. Now I see the result and I'm even more disapointed.
Good DOF too.
