[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was not going to post anymore bird pictures after my first miserable effort.

But although this is not the best (had to take it through glass) its certainly one I have not seen before.

Been watching birds on my feeders for a number of years now (sad I know) but have never seen one of these.

So I'm hoping one of you experts out there can tell me what it is and if its rare to be seen in the Sunny Borders of Scotland.

Taken at 800 iso hence the lack of detail.

Cheers

Peter

Hi Peter,

I am sorry I can't help with the identity but it is really nice to look at. I like the colours and the blurring of the bg I think the details are great and you have the focus spot imo well done.

Regards
Jon

Nice one. It's a Nuthatch. Not 'rare' but I would certainly say 'uncommon' in these parts.
Dougie.

Right place at the right time for this one.

Hi Peter, great capture of this Nuthatch, I am sure Dougie is right on the button there!
Best regards, Les

hello Peter,
this is not the best bird picture I have ever seen and you won't make a living as a wildlife photographer (not unless you get a bigger zoom) but I like this anyway. I can understand why you had a go at bagging it because he is such a delightful little fellow. And you haven't done too bad a job considering this is through a window and your iso was at 800.There may not be much deatil but he is well in view and the compo is good.
