| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Took this one at a charity motorcyle event a couple of years ago, this guy had been standing in a large group and was just ready to get on his bike.
I used the 300mm lens out to the max, it was a good job it was a nice day, and I had to crop in to the subject to remove the clutter, enlarged it to 800 for posting and altered brightness and contrast. I had real trouble trying to sharpen it up, in the end I went for the un-sharpen mask and used the blur tool to rub the heavy grain.
Hope you like it
PS - Anneke, this ones for you.

Hi,
Interesting image, I like the composition and crop. But the overall image is under, lack of details in the shadow area, lack of separation in tone...it goes from pitch black area, to bright highlight, middle tone are to close in contrast. I really don't like the harsh shadows under the skin, thought for a second that's you've clone some hair into the picture, then I figure out it waa he's side burn. The image is also soft. Certainly not camera mouvement at that shutter speed, just out of focus. The quality of this B&W is at the most average.
