During a trip with my students to London I took this photo of the Houses of Parliament from the London Eye. The skyline looked marvelous while the sunset had it's time.
Some short information from wikipedia.org:
The Palace of Westminster, also known as the Houses of Parliament or Westminster Palace, in London, is where the two Houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (the House of Lords and the House of Commons) meet. The palace lies on the north bank of the River Thames in the London borough of the City of Westminster, close to the government buildings of Whitehall.
The palace contains around 1,100 rooms, 100 staircases and 3 miles (5 km) of corridors. Although the building mainly dates from the 19th century, remaining elements of the original historic buildings include Westminster Hall, used today for major public ceremonial events such as lyings in state, and the Jewel Tower.
After a fire in 1834, the present Houses of Parliament were built over the next 30 years. They were the work of the architect Sir Charles Barry (1795–1860) and his assistant Augustus Welby Pugin (1812–52). The design incorporated Westminster Hall and the remains of St Stephen's Chapel.
PP: rotated to straighten the image; adjusted sharpness, contrast, brightness to put more emphasize on the sunset; cropped a bit of the river; added frame and border
I hope you like this. Thanks for having a look. Have a great week ahead of you. And most of all: enjoy whatever you do. Kindest regards, Britta |

Hi Britta,
Great how you captured the silhouette of the Houses of Parliament against the wonderful coloured sky. Nicely sharp and well composed!
Hans
Hallo Britta,
Perfect shot of the House of Parliament of London, you captured the silhouette in a really nice way. The warm tones coming behind the towers look awsome, overall it's a calm and peaceful photo from a big, noisy city. :) I also like that you left enough space for the sky, good way of composing. TFS!
Greetings,
Kristof
Hallo Britta,
ich kann mich meinen Vorredneren nur anschließen. Das ist bestimmt eines der meist fotogaphierten Gebäuce der Welt - aber so habe ich es noch nie gesehen. Klasse gemacht.
TFS
Thomas
