Leeds Castle

Leeds Castle, near Maidstone in Kent. The first fortified castle was built here in 1119. From 1278 it became the Queen of England’s dower – reserved for the widows of medieval kings. Six queens lived here over the next 150 years. The castle was popular with Henry V, and in 1520 his son Edward VI gave the castle to one of Henry’s courtiers as a gift. It has remained in private ownership ever since. There are several distinct parts of the castle – all surrounded by a very large moat.

Wonderful place Les,although it could be a bit more smaller into the picture to give the things around the castle also a change.

Hi Leslie,
Wonderful pastel colors and soft atmosphere in your capture.
A good POV with subdued lighting and a nice green cast on the water.
Excellent sharpness and great details.
I like the British and Scottish castles.
Good work.

Lovely stone coloured castle. We passed the signs for it when we were on holiday recently. Colours and details excellent. Nice pov. I hope you dont mind but I tried a workshop. Simply to provide a different perspective (not improve)
I hope you like
warm regards
David
Hi Leslie,
Very nice shot of this castle, the exposure looks excellent. I like your POV across the water, wish we had this sort of thing over here in NZ! The colours are nicely saturated too, well photographed.

Scott.
