I waded into the shallows of the Solway Firth to take this shot. I had been out to take some more shots of the haaf net fishermen and after as I went to walk off the shore I thought how beautiful this place is and I lucky I was to be there on a lovely sunny morning. Here the Solway is tranquil and soothing to the soul. Here is another shot that I took this morning. It shows the haaf net fishermen in the water.

Oh, my goodness, Bev...
what a perfect title. It looks so tranquil and quiet. I love those soft ripples in the water and the fabulous reflection of the clouds. Wonderful, soft morning color, beautiful light... Jeeeze, that's pretty. I am quite envious... :))) Really lovely shot. Many thanks and warmest wishes,
Shelly

This is indeed very soothing Bev. Effective use of the rules of thirds, the diagonals from the beach is emphasized, the water ripples are well defined. Best regards...
Danilo

Hi Bev,
TL learns me photography but also great english expressions like your title. This is perfectly according with your subject!
What a stunning view, your POV shows the perspective and the reflections beautifully. !And the coloured harmony with cyan and brown tones is a delight for the eyes, too! Superb image! Annie

Hi Bev,
Fantastic photo, I love the simplicity here. Nice colours and reflections. A polarizing filter would have really worked well in this situation, and brought out more of the blue hues in the sky while defining the clouds at the same time. May I suggest investing in one if you haven't done so already, they are quite cheap. I've got a 450D and I never take it off. Anyway, the sand looks so untouched in this scene, well worth getting your feet wet for :). A very peaceful place to be by the looks of it. Well photographed.

TFS,
Scott.

I really like the title you have chosen for this. Such a peaceful and serene image. I love the reflections in the water. TFS

Hi Bev
Well done for stopping and smelling the roses as they say. This is a simple but effective composition with the ripples on the left and the shoreline on the right leading to a vanishing point. They say that horizontal lines denote serenity and that is true here with the gentle waves even if they are at a slight angle.

You have seen this very well Bev,its special, the only thing you have to try is to bring the pictures horizon in balance, now it leans a bit to the right.

Hello Bev,

Your title is most appropriate!
I love the pov and the capture of the ripples on the water.
The triangle of sand, on the right, is most unexpected but highly effective in the overall composition.

Havre a good day,
Bev :-)
