Time is flying...congratulations with your 400th post, a beauty. Excellent sharp and a fine DOF with the background fully blurred. Maybe a bit tighter crop might even improve the presentation a bit. Anyway a fine picture Bev, looking forward to the next 400.

Hello Beverley
It's not easy to photograph butterflies as you have pointed out before! I like the dof here with the atennae nice and sharp against the bg. I find the leaf adds to the picture, showing the butterfly in it's natural environment. Very well presented and well done for notching up 400 posts.

Simple but beautiful composition, nice POV with good managemnet of background
The ideal compo may gain if the butterfly was not hidden behind the leaf, but in that case you'll lose the 3D view...

A very simple capture of this fabulous butterfly in accurate sharpness.
A good use of shallow DOF!
I don't say that the out of focus leaf is distructing but, in my openion, is helping the lovely composition.
A very nice blurred green BG.

wonderful macro and congratulation on completing 400 photos in TL. that's a beautiful butterfly and yes its requires loads of patience to photograph these little guys. a good pov and dof here. good colors as well. what I liked about this photo is the beautiful textures on its wings.
