Haven't a clue what this monster species is, and i have no intention of trawling the web (No pun intended) to find out.
Old Incy-Wincy Spider here has made a home in the garden, and for days i've been trying to get a decent shot if it. It's usually been to windy to get a good focus as the web sways around to much in the breeze, but this evening the air was still, so i grabbed the opportunity of taking a shot.
Trying to focus in the dark on such a small area was a little tricky, and auto-focus refused to work, so i had to resort to holding a torch in one hand to lighten the subject, then focus in on it before firing.
To avoid over-exposing the spider with flash at such a close range, i set the external mounted flash to 1/3 power manual mode and synchronized for TTL metering at a manual mode camera setting of 1/80. I also used the diffuser / reflector with the flash head set at 45 degrees and swiveled off to the left of the subject.
In Aperture 2, Contrast increased to 0.10 to reduce the glare given by the flash on a few areas of the web.
Channels adjusted to create a more natural light colour using the following settings:
Blue 0.00
Green 0.65
White 0.93
Sharpened:
Intensity 0.50
Radius 1.00
Exported into jpeg, highest quality 12 giving a file size of 288kb for upload
Cheers guys,
don't let the bed bugs bite tonight!

Hello, this is a mysterious presentation of a fearful looking creature. You kept the colors nicely saturated to enhance that effect.I see that you are into air planes. You are not a relation to William Lendrum "Billy" Mitchell by any chance?Best regards Otto.
