This is a part of one of the London Bridge's main beam. Viewing through my 300mm zoom lens, I was very surprised to discover this small plant growing on the main beam without any disturb. Just like that, in the center of the British empire. What a shame...

I just have to award that you try to help my british collegues with their inspection schedule. Plants grow everywhere. Birches are a special menace, they just need a small crack in concrete to survive and grow.

Nice diagonal but the plant is not so very clear from this angle. Get a bridge lift to your next inspection tour.

A surprise find indeed, Yitzhak. Excellent diagonal and good detail on the painted steel beam. I like how - except for the intruding plant - it's just a b(lue)&white picture.

Oh this one great - I just been looking at my old London photos and I got a similar shot of a tree growing on a vertical wall with a crack.
Better post it soon ;-)

Besides the amazing discovery its also a fine photo. I like the lines and the colours goes perfect with the blue sky - Good work indeed Yitzhak.

Simple picture yet good presentation. Good composition and colors are wonderful. It is so blue thus, the frame is well-chosen.

Beofre reading your note i was thinking "Is that a plant growing up there, man..." So i'm as supriced as you are. I have seen things groe in strange places, concrete, tart but never lite that. It's a stroing diagonal and contrast is great as always. I think i have been starting touse more contrast from looking at your pictures actually. Fun, one more thing to play with;)

Oh, and the "just"...well you know, it was, just me...no planing, no thinking just the camera and me - just me ;)

I missed this before.. i like the diagonal splitting the sky and the strong form of the bridge. The little tree gives a human element to the photo some how, but i think i might have made it less central if possible. Frame colour-hmm. Great shot!

Ver y good composition. Yes, the weed is very unusual.. but thats what makes the photo unusual. Good use if diagonals too.

Wow Yitzhak, nice find here. Amazing where things grow. I love the composition here. The clouds make an impressive backdrop and I like your framing. Nicely done!

Likes the diagonal frame. Color scheme in harmony!

Standards are definitely slipping! A great diagonal shot, Yitzhak. I like the shades of blue and the originality of your composition. Nicely framed too.

It goes to show that plants will grow just about anywhere given the right conditions. Very good shot, I like the diagonal, the colors and the sky.
