I want you to notice the variety of colors in each hexegon in the comb. The reason they are different is because the pollen of various plants is different so the bees of this hive have collected pollen from many different kinds of plants.

Hi Thomasz,

This is a great macro with a very instructive note. TFS.

Hi Tom,
Nice shot. This is so new to me. I didn't know honeycombs had different colors in them. Weird... The only combs I ever see are wasps nest, and all they have are larvae in them. Anyhow, nice composition and focus. Good sharpness, too...good textures.
Take care.
Richard

Hi Tom,
This is an interesting and most of all informative picture! Never knew what you say here, not that I ever was inside a beehive... Good colours enhancing your message, this is textbook material... Well done!

Very interesting shot, Tom. I never saw them so upclose. It amazes me how organized those bees are with sorting of pollen.

Katya

It let me say that if bees were humain, they shurely have a great wine cave with excellent selections :o) I new they have different pollens, but i never see it clear as you show us... But were are the bees! I hope they don't cause you trouble ;o)
The way you place those honeycombs is rich!
