[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The original idea was to have a self portrait that appears like a statue after taking a black and white picture of statue and noting how it looked just as real as the people around it. Except for the color mixing to black and white, no other digital manipulation was done. The smoothe skin effect was done by having the red levels much lower than the blues and greens. The bright eyes were due to the higher blue setting of the levels around the eyes.

I am also the model for the image After here on TrekLens using a technique opposite to this one.

Well, in this picture you sure appear a lot friendlier than in the After pic, Dan. I like your explanation of the "how to..." part.
The background is distracting IMO, so I would have Gaussian blurred that...

This is an exceptional portrait I like the smooth skin and thanks for the info .

strong (self)portrait.... the strong greytones work perfectly well here... they eyes really catch the viewer... well done

I like the textures here. The person in the background is distracting to me. Good idea.

Talk about two opposite pictures and styles. I like the look you have. Very intense. Very waxy feel to the skin. Great shot.

Dan...I wish I can shoot myself directly for a self-portrait. Most of my self-portraits are reflections. Thanks for the tip.

Anyway, this is really GREAT. No pulling of legs here. Very good composition. BW is the best decision. The chair close to your mouth is a bit distracting. Clone it out, IMHO.

It is the portrait you have on your profile. It scare me a bit... sort of Jack Nicholson look in the Shining ! He.. a very nice self-portrait anyway :-)

The brightness of the eyes in contrast with the rest of the image is very cool. An interesting technique you've used thanks for sharing it.
