Dell Quay and Apuldram.

At one time the seventh most important port in England, Dell Quay and nearby Apuldram must still be one of the most beautiful.
I arrived early this morning and the weather was perfect, still and cold without a cloud in the sky. Dell Quay is situated in Chichester Harbour.
The surface was like a mirror and I took loads of shots before I saw a little dinghy chugging out to sea. I waited for the bow waves to rock these little boats and took some more pictures.
I have used my special gold treatment here, which involves converting to sepia and raising the saturation levels.

This colour is becoming your signature Michael. Quite a series.
Wonderful restful light; these boats are almost moving on the big flat waves.

Nice composition with these boats spread out over the water with the little waves creating some movement. Good placement of the horizon in the top 3rd of the picture (I am not certain but I think it might be tilted a bit to the right!) and interesting golden treatment. Well done!

Good idea to wait for the ripples! The gold treatment works very well, creating a surreal, but still quite natural atmosphere. Great job!

Michael,
The men with the golden colours. It look like your specialty sundown quite peaceful nature.
You create an oases of rest on TL with this beautiful work.

Nothing much to say. Its so perfect. Reflections on soft waves gives much to pleasure while looking at the shot...

I noticed there is a slight banding effect in the sky (from the increased saturation) - perhaps using Neat Image might help clean that up. Great colours, good timing with the ripples. Nice product!

Beautiful picture, nice atmosphere, clever colours;
I don't know what to advise, maybe a bit of cropping from the right hand side would cut out some of these floating things?
All the best
Artur

Hi Michael, this is beautiful, could you possible explain to me how you do this gold treatment as you call it the whole series is very very nice.
thanks
Christine.

Beautiful compo and magnificent colours, Michael. The rimples add a very tranquil mood to the shot. Short: a picture to be jealous of! ;o)).
TFS.

Ok, I keep saying "this is my favorite...blah blah"...no REALLY THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE!...until you post another one! This is super, LOVE the reflective glow of the sky under the boats! Super smoothness of the water! B-)
