[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photo is my 50th post. I would like to celebrate it with a glass of wine: Cheers, my TL friends, here's to you! Thank you to all of you for your friendship, also to those who sadly left.

This scene may give you an idea of the colours surrounding us during that lushious lunch at the L'Oustau de Baumanière in
Les-Baux-de-Provence last month. Sunshine came filtering down through a beautiful green 'roof' of trees dancing on white table cloths and rendering glasses of white, rosé or red wine even more luminous. Now, imagine this scene being gently touched by a slight occasional wind fanning the guests, add the sweet provencal scents of wild rosemary and thyme and you get an idea of what paradise on earth can be like.

This wine is/was local and was recommended by the restaurant's sommelier, a young lady. Here is the way to the dish it accompanied: Provence 3

Regarding the composition itself: I know that the object/glass is placed in the very middle and that the right lower half is somewhat empty. However, I decided against cropping simply because I like it as it is.

A nice summery feel to this image and the blurred background makes a great contrast to the sharp focus on the glass.

In the glass we find the most interesting combination of refraction and reflection, and you capture it all with good clarity in colours and fine details!

Well done, Cordelia. It is a great subject that makes me hungry. The bg and lighting clearly tells the story of a meal eaten out of doors and bring me back to France (and I think many of the viewers). The image is very well exposed, too, especially given the lighting. In the vein of constructive criticism, my only nit is that I wish the shot were a bit wider, especially to include the whole wine glass, so it wouldn't feel a bit "incomplete." Of course that would make the reflection much less prominent. But perhaps another glass in the bg would give me a feeling of "completeness." But cheers on a wonderful image.
