.Where do I begin?

I liked to pose in front of the camera...the reason why, for the past 6 years before 2004, I always made a travel to Europe. I wanted to be IN the picture of all famous places of the world...and I did (I have countless photo albums to prove it).

I purchased my Coolpix 4500 late of 2002. I got hooked to phototography. Still, I liked to pose. June of 2003, I made a trip to Spain, Portugal and Morocco. I must admit I got busier not posing, but taking documentary photos of people and places. I still posed but very minimally. In my recent travels, I barely pose... and I sort of despised being in front of the camera.

In my next 10 posts, I will show to you pictures I took in my 2003 trip to Spain, Portugal and Morocco. That was the year when I also become addicted to photoshop... mainly to retouch pictures (as a beginner, I had very crude techniques then and the results look horrible at times) and to make collage/montage.

Up to last year, I still put myself in the collage/montage (of course where I was in, another person took the shot). This series of 10 collage/montage will show some stories about the places I visited but mainly, it will show my evolution as a "photographer". Please bear with my early work. I can do better now, of course.:)

Not the end of the story yet...to be continued in the next posts...

A very elaborate postcard indeed. Now wouldn't it be cool in future to have a small portable printer that could print this out while you're on the road, and allow you to send postcards like this home with you in them? I love the design and the font and the background colour(s).

each one was a perfect photo, the flying pigieons, the fountain's falling water, the man leaning on the scarlet door(is that u,Manuel?)..so, too much to see,it lost the main view point,i thought...but i like the composition, brought me the mind of a Christmas card:)
well done,
xu

Hi Manny, I like how you graphically present those pictures, very original. Very harmonic colour choice. The four top picture should be on the same line though and the one with the pictures has a part of a wing that doesn't fit in my humble opinion. Otherwise real nice. Looking forward to your series. Yours, Jan

Hello Manny,
This collage/montage is very creative and nice. Very good choice of color... looks very nice as a postcard. I'm looking forward to see your other collage/montage. Regards,
Cathy

That should be interesting indeed.. not starting with one of you as a baby on the couch?? haha!! i 'll bear with you then to see that 2003 trip to my dear old Europe.... not quite your best montage but i understand this was a first...

What a great souvenier Manny. A very nice postcard style of collage. Each photo is very good. Love the one of you leaning against the arch. This is such a wonderful way of remembering your visit, placing yourself in one of the photos. I must keep that in mind.

You did a marvelous job on the creative graphic design for this collage. I like the way the brown lines overlap each other, and then the shorter and longer lines above the text. Very unique, and the style is your very own. I like that.

Very much a picture postcard feel to it, you've chosen the colours for your background really well, good choice of fonts too.
