This is what my father called, a funeral flower!! In our house we have ten of these plants! They are easy to take care of. You can see if they need water... thats what a need!!

But this week, I had a real funeral. And thats isn't easy to take care of.... it is difficult to bury someone, eventhough he was sick of cancer. It is difficult to see the grief, the pain of let him go....
You don't know what to do. A little water is not enough.... You feel helpless, unable to do something that ease the pain...

Thats why I made this photo. You know that it is a funeral flower, a flower that reminds you of dark times or moments. But in this photo you see light! The green colour of new live, the pollen of reproduction, the white colours of purity...

What a contradistinction in one flower.... I love that, it shows how I feel.

Greetings Janneke

i hope you feel better soon.

Hoi janneke!

Groetjes
Willienda

Hi Janneke
Good strong image to go with a powerful note. My parents died within 1 month of each other at the end of last year so I am aware of the difficulties of grieving. Life though goes on and there is so much beauty all around us that we cannot fail to be inspired.
Best wishes
Chris

Strong picture and note, Jan !
I can feel the contradiction you illustrated, the grief of darkness and pain and the purity and clearness of New Life !

Hoi Janneke,
