Hi everybody, right, sharp shot this time but just to leave it clear it is to elustrate an event, the sun was coming trough my lounge in the early morning while I was thinking of a theme shot for the halloween season, so I came up with this simple photo which I believe its quite simple to make but equally quite powerful image to look at in the artistique point of view, when looking at it one feels a sense of fear, the most basic Human feelings that we know, and so, that is my introduction for the Halloween season and the following is what I know about it and wish to share it with you.

As you all know we are in October and altough most of you know it, there is still plenty out there that don`t, so instead of a trick I am giving you a treat of information about an event made popular in America and is becoming more and more popular in Europe although its roots lay here (europe).

Halloween is a holiday celebrated on the night of October 31 traditional activities include trick-or-treating mostly consisting of children going from door to door in various costumes with the aim of getting candy or sweets, bonfires, costume dressing, viewing horror films and going on haunted hayrides, Halloween originated from the Pagan festival Samhain celebrated among the Celts of Ireland and Great Britain, Irish and Scottish.

The most prominent country to celebrate hallowen is the United States after the Irish,Scotish and English immigrants carried versions of the tradition over in the nineteenth century, Halloween is now celebrated in Ireland, the United States,Canada, Puerto Rico, and the United Kingdom, the term Halloween is shortened from All-hallow-even, as it is the evening before All Hallows' Day also known as All Saints Day, it was a day of religious festivities in various northern European Pagan traditions.

The carved pumpkin lit by a candle inside is one of Halloween's most prominent symbols this is an Irish tradition of carving a lantern which goes back centuries, these lanterns are usually carved from a turnip or swede, the carving of pumpkins was first associated with Halloween in North America where the pumpkin, many families that celebrate Halloween carve a pumpkin into a frightening or comical face and place it on their home's doorstep after dark.

In America the tradition of carving pumpkins is known to have preceded the Great Famine period of Irish immigration and the tradition of carving vegetable lanterns may also have been brought over by the Scottish or English, the carved pumpkin was associated generally with harvest time in America and did not become specifically associated with Halloween until the mid to late 19th century, sorry if I was long with my speech but I thought that I had to put you in the mood about this calendar event, many thanks for dropping by your aknowledgment is appreciated.

Bom fim-de-semana,
Aida
