Good Morning Everyone,

Amazing ... the sun is shining this morning! I will keep my fingers crossed that it will stay!

Today, I am posting a shot of a beautiful village in Brittany called Pontrieux. The village abounds with flowers; there are containers everywhere. I hope to show you the bridge at a later date.

This shot shows the river and some electric boats in which people can ride. They glide silently along and allow the passengers to see not only the beautiful flowers, but also tableaux of the wash houses which used to operate, in the last century, along the banks.

This is a must for anyone who visits Brittany!

Many thanks for stopping by.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph. :-)

Hi Beverly,
Very nice scene indeed, beautiful architecture, peaceful environment.
Great colours and sharpness on your whole image. Well done! TFS.
Greetings,
Kristof

Hi Bev - beautiful scene, nice colour and exposure. Not always easy shooting in bright sunlight.
I find the eaves of the building that show in top right a little overpowering and detracting from the photo simply because it's too large..
Regards
David

Hello Beverley
What a wonderful postcard that deserves being published in a tourist guide of Bretagne. It reminds me of great masters'painting. A very artistic composition,a great point of view and a perfect depth of field .I like the roof in the upper right corner. Is it a "lavoir?
Congratulations
Serge

This has such a 'Home Sweet Home' feeling to it. Very nice pov and superb colors. A very gorgeous scene! TFS and have a great day!

Hello Bev,

Some lovely strong colours and reflections in the dark water, a fine sky, and a great sense of perspective as the eye travels up the river and under the willows.

You have managed the exposure excellently here - lots of good shadow detail.

I'm not quite sure about the overhanging roof, - I expect your POV was constrained, and it was difficult to avoid getting it in the shot. It does have some interesting constructional details in it though. I suppose pasting in some extra sky is a possibility, but I think the composition would then lose its balance, apart from bending the TE rules.

Kind regards,

Peter.

Marvelous Landscape image.

Nice work Bev, good use of the overhang to partially frame the view. Lovely tones and textures in the buildings and well composed. Well done,
David

Outstanding colours and I love the PoV here -- including the bit of roof works well to put US into the scene

Hi Beverley,
I agree with you, it is a place to visit! For its quiet river and its colorful boats, old and picturesque house and lovely hanged pots of flowers on their facades... All elements breathe sun and dolce vita!
Bravo and thanks for this visual delight! Annie

Looks at those houses, I'm sure in one of them you can find a Creperie - yummy, fun to watch them prepare those pancakes.
Bev, It looks as I remember Bretagne from way back - lovely,
TFS and bringing back sweet memories.
