Old Saddle
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
On a walk through the inner city of Bremen I came across a parking place for bikes. Some where very modern, some were really old. And this one here was a perfect combination of both, a fairly new bike with an old saddle made of leather with wrinkles and scars all over.
I tried to capture this saddle concentrating on its structure.
During pp I tried to bring out the sense of age by darkening the image, adjusting contrasts and applying a sepia tone; I softened the image a bit and worked with layers to keep a lot of details of the saddle while desaturating the background a bit.
On my screen this image now looks quite good. After a disaster with a dark post some days ago I really hope that this one works out on all your screens and you can see what I was up for.
Thanks for having a look. Kind regards, Britta |

Best regards
Ben
Hello Britta. Nice shot, the textures of the aged saddle are captured well in your shot. Thanks for sharing.
Regards Phil.
hi britta.
no need to worry. this is nicely toned. i like the marbling of the leather. definitely looks like an old saddle that was too comfortable to throw away.
congrats.

Funny composition, a try to make something else from just a bike. Close to abstract.
Und täglich grunzt das Murmeltier.
Hallo Britta,
