Hello Everyone,

Greetings from an even wetter, England!
Even the cat refuses to go out which is extremely unusual!

Today I am posting that most beautiful of flowers, the Echinacea. I just love it! It's certainly one of the most successful plants in my garden.

I had to laugh out loud when I was reading about it in Wikipedia! Are you ready - withstands DROUGHTS!!!

Anyway, if you would like a little more information, just click here for comments from BBC gardening.

Many thanks for stopping by.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph. :-)

Hi Beverley,
there is very good detail in the shot. Once again, use of narrow DoF has produced appealing results :-)

Best regards, Daniel

Hi Bev;
Echinacea - also one of my favorite flowers. This is excellent - great sharpness and clarity. Very nice color contrasts.
Yeah, "withstands drought", so well suited to where I live in western Canada.
Have a great weekend.
Trudy

It really is a beautiful flower, and I love the lighting and colors. Very nicely framed. TFS and have a happy day. (Hope the sun shines on you soon:)

Hi Beverley,

What a beautiful expression of
talent and creativity!
The flower image is impecable,
the details and colors are beautiful,
and great focus too.

Regards from Miami!

Hi Bev,

You had lost yours, are these the ones your friend did bring you?
They do seem to withstand the rain somewhat as well.
So much sun in a picture is extra appreciated, I know you probably feel the same when you look outside the window.
Absolutely lovely details here.

Hi Beverley, a very bold flower, this is a really striking shot.
I love the light which brings out all the colours and textures.
I have tried to grow these, but they don't seem to like my garden!
Tfs, regards Jean.

Thanks for your comments on my 'Mellow Yellow'.

However wet it may be, you have timed this shot perfectly, with lovely young petals and superb lighting. It does indeed do well in droughts, but our summer over here has been remarkably drought free this year too. All that water must come from somewhere -- will the supply run out before the winter? :)

Thank you for your comments on the yellow begonias.

Hi Bev, they certainly stand tall. Good focus and your chosen POV just right. The colour and detail nicely captured and the black border works well.
David

Thanks for the comment on my re post

If I were a little closer to my sister (as in distance) right now, she would be pouring Echinacea syrup and or tablets down my throat...vile stuff that is but it works :)

Hello Beverley,
Very nice capture of this flower, excellent sharpness and depth of field, superb details, nice light, beautiful colors and good clarity.

Hello Bev.. very nice capture of the Echinacea Flower here.. I like your composition.. I saw some wonderful specimens growing at the Eden Project when I was there in July..seems they are a hardy plant.. and very medicinal too.. I have used it often for the immune system with success!

Well done on your bright presentation.

Cheers
Dawn
