Good Morning Everyone,

I hope your weekend is being thoroughly enjoyable.

Today, I am posting a shot of a geranium which a took a few weeks ago. I was struck by its unusual colouring ... I don't think I've ever seen one like this before! It was in the garden of the local Heritage Cente, which does sell plants as well as record the local history but this one was not for sale. It had been planted near the normal pink geraniums. Maybe it was a hybrid!

Whatever, I was struck , not only by its colour but its perky appearance too! It made you notice that it was different!

For your interest, I have included an Internet link to geraniums. For anyone who would like to know more, just click here.

Many thanks for stopping by.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph. :-)

Hand held.

Hi Bev,
I don't think I have seen this unusual but attractive variety of geranium either. Well metered and with good colors and sharpness. I shall enjoy this as the gardening season is fast approaching its end.

Attractive presentation of three element,Well composition and very good bokeh too. Good work,TFS.

Very nice shot here Bev, love the DARK green BG..it is so nice a contrast to the lighter flowers! You did a great job keeping OE out of it! It's hard to shoot WHITE flowers...maddening at times! This is nice work!

Hi Bev,
What an amazing close up vith superb sharpness, colours, light and detailas.TFS.
Cheers,

Hi Bev - very nice shot! Love the soft light and colors, nice contrast. Good composition.

Danilo and Bev, I think this Geranium might be called "Splish Splash". I worked in a garden center for many years, and I believe this newish variety was just coming onto the scene when I was leaving there.

Very unique!! I have never seen one of these either, I love the colors and it's such a cheerful image!! Very good detail and lighting. TFS and have a super Sunday!

I like the long thin presentation and like you I am drawn to the unusual colouration of the petals. Exposure is good, keeping the details well in the white petals, but could perhaps be a little sharper - the sweet spot seems to be the seed case towards the bottom of the frame.
Thanks for sharing

Very fine delicate colours and superb off-centre composition here. The slightly off-centre framing works very nicely as well

Hi Beverley,as always a well presented picture, the framing suits the shot very well.
I like the 'portrait' format. The cropping is spot-on.

Excellent DOF Bev. Stunning macro shot indeed.

There are so many different variants Bev, my Mother collected bits and pieces and had many different colours. They enjoyed the semi arid conditions where I lived as a child. A pretty colour, good light and excennet colour/detail. Well done,
David

I like this little different, Bev!
It is a perennial geranium named
geranium splish splash

I think that this specie has also a exquisite lemon perfum!
Your DOF makes a beautiful diffuse background. Excellent rendering of the white petals with this subtle blue color. This whould be very nice hanged in your kitchen walls. Bravo! Annie

Hello Bev

Both your capture and this flower itself are absolutely lovely. I have a similar geranium but its all purple, this really is an unusual colour and I have never seen one before. Lovely sharp image with good lighting control and neat framing.

TFS regards Helen

Hi Beverley,
Good composition,beautiful flowers,
Best regards,
Ralf

It's an unusual shape for a geranium, but then I don't know much about them, other then that I have a huge hanging basket filled with red ones and a few white and pink in between.
A lovely flower and good DOF here - I think the colour combination is very elegant as is the presentation.
