Good morning...

:-) and a good one it was...
Wednesday is usaully my day off and since the weatherman promised us a nice, sunny and warm day I decided to get up real early to see the sun come up over the old harbour in town...

I think my efford was quite rewarding again.

Here is a view of the "Hoofdtoren", one of the 3 towers that are still left from the old defence system.
It used to be a weapon deposit way back in the 16th century. Now there is a great restaurant in there.
In front of the tower you see some sails and masts of an old ship that's moored to the newly restored quai.
I really like this view... it is something we see here very day...

Converted to B/W and cropped off the unnecessary parts.

Dit toont zich goed in B/W.
Goed gecropt, de top van de toren staat er netjes op ;-)
Het beeld is weer van superieure kwaliteit en mooi van compositie.

Hoipiepeldepoi Ennie,
Jaaaa dit mag ik wel, een mooie zwart-wit plaat. Gaaf hoe je de boegspriet met zeilen en tuigage gebruikt als frame voor de hoofdtoren. Zelf zou ik het contrast alleen iets hebben opgevoerd, de foto lijkt een tikkie bleek. Niettemin een fijne imapressie!

The framing/composition of this is delightful! Great combination of subjects here, with a lovely antique feeling
