thought i would try it on here as it got voted off TN for being too HPP. what do you think i only put a frame on it and cloned part of another image onto it for a closer view! shh but they passed one before now.
see another composition on my wksp

so this is a Stinking iris and is found in dry woodlands, hedgebanks and scrubby sea-cliffs, and my garden but mainly on lime-rich soils in southern England. The mauve or buff yellow flowers appear from May to July. It has long strap-like leaves which form dense evergreen clumps and when crushed have an unusual smell, which has given rise to one alternative name: 'roast-beef plant'. However, as Richard Mabey notes in his Flora Britannica 'scent associations are notoriously personal and one mother's vegetarian child told her that it smelt of nut roast'! Others say the plant is reminiscent of the smell of burning rubber. After flowering, the seed pods swell, bursting open in the autumn to reveal spectacular brilliant orange-red seeds which often stay on the plant throughout winter.

I have always been impressed with these "falling out of the frame" images, probably because I have not mastered the technique yet. Impressive lighting equals brilliant colors. Too bad for those TN folk.

This is a terrific image - beautifully composed, especially in relation to the framing. I love the sharpness and the direction of the light. I could almost reach out and grab the berries.
