P O P P I E S...

I have gone crazy with my 12-24 lens. I am taking all possible shots with it. Well, while the novelty of it is still in, I might as well try something new.

And that is exactly what I did with this shot. I had it on the ghround looking up to the sky, underneath the poppies. The overcast sky didn't help but maybe it was a blessing in disguise. The colors of the poppies stood out. I did some saruration manipulation in PS.

I am very proud to announce to everyone that I finished up my Norwary gallery in pbase. And I am VERY proud of my shots...not the usual portraits! Hey guys...I know how to shoot landscapes and seascapes too (though I need to practice a lot more). :)

Here's the link. I would appreciate your comments:

Hope to see you there.

Un si grand monsieur de la photographie qui se fait tout petit devant des coquelicots …
Il n'y a donc pas que les jolies femmes qu'il aime …

Great shot Manual, something very different from your portrait work and these poppies are amazing, i love the white background which looking at the angle of the shot was prob the sky. well done and thanks for the link.

This a very artistic creation of poppies. Yes it must be fun to have a fish-eye lens. And lay down with the poppies around you. I see it as large poster like photo in IKEA. Fore many bedrooms.

It has come out brilliant Manuel - the transluscent brightness of flowers, the water droplets, the clarity of picture all can be rated in superlatives. In word - beautiful - may we have many more such wonders from your 12-24.

The most amusing poppies shot I've ever seen. I think the same effect could be achieved with the lightbox but the fact its not a studio job makes this picture further unique.
Your Norway gallery is completely stunning. The most I liked were low-light high contrast seascapes - they are very stylish and suits the cool surrounding nature perfectly. Great stuff!

Great work Manny!!! I have to tell you that this is a really original popies shot!!

Ana

A very original and unique POV. The poppies really look like giants. The colours are quite gorgeous too. TFS

Ps: your Pbase gallery full of amazing shots
my favo is FeeDing :)

I can feel the happiness you are experiencing with your new lens. Lucky you. Love the low point of view looking up. Great graphical image with a great blown out sky. I like the transparency of the poppies. I already saw your new photos of PBase. Will you post them here too! I'm in love with "Echo" and wish I could hang it in my digital darkroom :)

Interesting POV and PP. Creates a nice sureal white with orange poppes - creative and artistic. Has a soft colourful airy feel to it. Nicely done , TFS, Sam....
PS - Checked out your galleries on pbase - you have some great photos showing there.

This photo is amazing!!! By taking out the BG, you've made it into a cool graphic print, the kind of thing that I would expect to see on the wall in some trendy Manhattan loft. Bravo, I love it!
