Bird face

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Hello Everyone,
I finished work early today so I have time to post a photo and hopefully critique some too.
Another one from my hols in Bahrain, this time at a park/zoo called al-areen, it used to be a safari park but alot of the land got sold to build hotels etc. so it is more of a zoo now.
Excuse my ignorance/laziness but I dont know what this bird is, I do know they are a Bahraini favorite as they are very good hunters. If anyone can let me know, please feel free to do so, I will be grateful.
I have done some PP on this but it was a while back and I am not completely sure what I did, I think I over-contrasted it because I liked the effect.
Thanks

Hi Tom, good shot of the Falcon at rest,it must have been exciting to see it hunt, that is if you had the opportunity to do that:)Pretty sharp beak & talons.Afraid I can't help with the name other than I thought it may be a Peregrine Falcon
but please don't quote me on that.

Hi Tom, I think it is a Peregrine Falcon, they are generally called "Shaheen" in arabic which means hawk. Hice photo, it is a shame about the hood, it would have been nice to see his face. Definitely not a bee eater!
Cheers,
Dad

hello Tom
A nice capture of macro for this falcon hawk against a blur backdrop. This bird is a treasure for Arabs and they represent the status of the owner. Very expensive to own such a bird. Good shot.

Hello Tom, quite a bird you've caught there! Very sharp, good exposure and a great pose from the subject. Well done my friend!
