[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My attempt on shooting wild life :)

In fact, in winters flamingo fly here to Cyprus from to spend some time on the salt lakes here.
Luckily one of these lakes is in just 30 min or so drive from my site. So on Saturday I woke up at 5.30 (not common of me at all so I've ordered a brass plate with that date and time engraved) and headed south-west having a vague idea of my destination borrowed from my colleague just a day before. Half-ful petrol tank, half-charged cam battery, die-hard boots and 300mm lens made the expectations highly promising. I was almost at the place when I found out that the weather thought just opposite. I could not see the Sun that day until 6.30 and when I saw it I did not recognize it. Mirky dirty grey ball gloomily stared at the grey landscape below through the thick dust curtain. This was another African born thing (the first one was flamingo, see top of the story) we use have here once in a year - heavy dusty winds (it still blows, actually).
A hard blow from mother nature, but my 5.30am rise drove me further into the grey. And finally I saw them! Thin streak of creamy pink went through the grey gob roaring and cackling and bagpiping in thousands voices.
So here is the most gorgeous result I've got. Shot from appr.30 meters at 300mm (which is 480mm effective with my cam). At first sight it was just the grey pixel paste but with the help of pink/blue grad (and some more things) I found some jam to put on my first wildlife pancake.

I live in Larnaca and drive past these salt lakes every day two times and these beautiful ones seem to dislocate too far from my camera abilities!

very nice shot joker. Perfect composition and good frame.

Excellent photo! I like the mist in the b/g making the horizion disapear. It's great to see so many differnt poses by the Flamingos.

The flying flamingo was really well placed and nicely captured. I have seen plenty of shots of them standing with the curved necks, but not so often seen one as straight as that. The line of standing birds is really effective given that there is no other visible horizon. An interesting and cool shot.

Very good action shot. Well done, and well worth the early rise to get this shot.
