[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We are so used to seeing bodies bronzing under palm trees on exotic beaches - but that's only half the story. It was very cold indeed and the restaurant was closed for the winter when we visited Lara Beach on the western shore of Cyprus. This is a beach that is closed to tourists for several months every year, being a nesting ground for sea turtles. The whole area in fact is a nature reserve. We came on a winter Sunday, and the only signs of life were some hunters happily shooting partridges in the "nature reserve" (which I think just means that developers and promoters are not allowed to build more villas and hotels than they already do).

Great shot with interesting funny note. I like this photo a lot - it could easily be a Christmas-postcard. Nice sharp details - I love it how you've captured the texture of the sand and rocks - and pretty colours (especially the socks:-)). Thanks for sharing.

Well, your note explains the Helvetic touch on the left... :) Nice atmosphere, something different than usual when a palmtree is involved! Composition is well balanced with the branch and the pier.

What a great and funny photo! Thank you for giving me my laugh for the day. Being a beach lover and still going to the beach when it is chilly, I can appreciate this cute photo. Excellent sharpness and love your POV.....:O)

LOL - the socked feet, the palm tree branch, and the calm very cold water. You have such a great sense of humour that I can understand. I can just image the two of you on a chilly December day walking around with your cameras. Your note is great, and explains the situation well. How I envy you both being in Cryprus. Part of my heart was left there in 1969.

Nice composition Per, I like the socks they bring color to the cold looking scene.

Well Per, i´m just glad to realize that some sepia or BW versions of the Cyprus ride will be being afected by a nostalgic feeling when i will read your words and see the image you just posted someday 20 years from now. And it will be great to realize that Nostalgia is a feeling that survived Parkinson and Alzheimer.

Oh!! And it will be great to see on that day that you are almost reaching 1150 points on TL...hahahaha...you dam mercenary!!! ;))) hehehe..oh...sory...some nostalgic feeling on past comments just crossed my mind...

I had to laugh!!!!!! Nature reserve means you throw out ny poor people, and develop for the rich!
