[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
There have been many posts on TL this December that have celebrated Christmas, while at the same time showing our world as maybe not quite the peaceful place it should be - and the one we wish for every time christmas comes round. Especially Migra's posts have touched me deeply, and as I wrote to her, those of us who are fortunate enough to live in a part of the world not torn by strife or war or anger or hate or pain or hunger or terror or violence should appreciate it doubly these days.
This portrays a problem that will hopefully soon be resolved with the start of accession negotiations between Turkey and the European Union - the unfortunate separation of Cyprus. And on this semi-positive note I wish all of you out there a Merry Christmas and a peaceful 2005 in good health and happiness.

Hi Per, i am glad to have the luck to live in a peacefull country, where my two kids do not have to have fear about their future.
I think Migra's posts have touched many of us here at TL, and brought up thoughts about hate, fear and terror, and why these 'demons' try to rule the world.
bye and have a peacefull christmas
alex

Fortunately I live in a peaceful part of the world. I only see these problems others have through my television set and can only imagine their suffering.

When pictures like this are posted I'm very glad I have a warm bed to sleep in. I also hope that one day these unfortunate people can have the same as me.

A good reminder Per!

This is rather a different Christmas card to that we have been receiving on TL. This one makes me stop and think for a while. There is so much unrest in the world, when there should be so much peace. I appreciate my peaceful country more and more, even though I really miss my homeland, especially at this time of year. The inclusion of the Father Christmas in your composition adds a nice splash of colour.
I hope you and your family have a safe and happy holiday Per, from everyone in my home, including Tinka (I know you don't like cats, but if you met her, you would like her too).

Thank you very much and merry Christmas to you too.

Can we add this: all of the troops must out of Cyprus ! Turkish, Greek and UN, and then let's make our island out of any military services, do we need them ? NO
