[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the view from a tomb looking into a small courtyard at the Tomb of the Kings near Pahpos, Cyprus. The tombs, carved out of the rock around 300BC.

This shot was taken some time ago whilst on holiday in Limassol. Taken on my first digital camera, a Fuji Finepix MX2700. Compared to today's digital cameras, it was notorious for digital sparkle - areas of the image would be reproduced with pixels that appeared to sparkle. Not sorry I can't remember where I put the camera now that I've replaced it with a couple of decent units.

Anyway, the picture came straight off the camera. I've just added a frame border sampling a colour from the print for the stroke.

I like this shot, even though there are probably thousands similar out there as the photographic opportunities were limited at the site.

Hope you like it.

Hi Dai,

Congratulations! This is very impressive photography. Awesome POV used to frame this tomb and you did well coping with the harsh light - good metering and DOF used.

Well done and tfs,

Martyn

Hi Dai,

I like the way you have handled the available light which could have been over oe but isn't. There is a good clarity to the columns the light giving a golden touch to them well done.

Jon

Very nice work! Great colours and light - I love the mystical effect this shot has, the mystery of the surrounding darkness and the sunlight playing on the columns.

The camera has done a pretty good job considering. The slight OE on the sand in the lower part of the frame really doesn't bother me.

Hello Dai,
This image is remarkable due the lighting you have captured and especially the angle you chose to highlight the columns. Outside looking in here was the best decision it appears.
Excellent work...
Steve

Good play with those pillars and DOF (due to the pillars). I like the warm colours and the framing.
Well done

Albatros
