...to everybody on TrekLens. You are a wonderful community to be a part of and on this last day of the year there are three things that occupy my mind: My family who will always be first, the millions less unfortunate than ourselves, and the ones I have the privilige to call my friends. A lot of you belong to this third category and I thank you for lots of inspiring, enligthening and encouraging photos, exchanges and critiques in 2004. This last post of the year is of course dedicated to the victims of the tsunami catastrophe who will need a lot more than a candle in the dark in the months and years to come. But without the small light of hope there would be nothing, and that is even more inconceivable than the dimensions of the tragedy that hit the world on Boxing Day. Let us hope 2005 will enable us to help the ones who need it better than 2004. I wish you all and your families good health and happiness.

This photo was taken during a four hour power failure in our holiday home early December - a small cabin in the hills of Cyprus in the middle of nowhere, after a ferocious thunder storm. Without those candles it would have been very dark indeed.

I used a preprogrammed night setting on the small camera - and a tripod of course.

A picture with a very nice mood, also your note is a good one. For you and your family, a great 2005 with all the things you wish, Per

This is a very nice tribute Per. I like the warm mood you have created. A little cabin in the woods, without light, but you were safe and warm.

I wish you all the best for 2005, and for more great photos for us to enjoy.

Hi Per,
I do appreciate your text and photo.
The best to you and family.
Jean Michel

Thanks for your wishes Per, I wish all the best for 2005 to you and your loved ones.
Nice compo, very sober but excellently exposed. Colours are very warm & soft... beautiful.
Those tea-lights do tend to come in handy, don't they ;o).

Same to you. Happy New Year!

This image shows perfectly that some simple objects can be translated to a momentum, dedicated to all the victims of the Tsunami catastrophe. Anyone should give, if it was only a thought.

Very sharp, good light and the right atmosphere. The note tells where you are and where you stand. I hope many of us will follow your steps. Maybe then we will have a better life, a better world. Good health and go in Peace!
