Hi karina,
Sorry no idea about how to get the ants away from you lovely flowers. Great photo with beautiful colors and a nice grainy touch to it. The composition is supereb.

Niek

Nice capture Karina, sharp yet grainy combination along with the colours and composition are very attractive. Nicely done and TFs ... Sam
As for ants, I can only say I go fishing for the nest and pour boiling water - sometimes works. Have a great day ...

Ants? Ant killer, fly spray, boiling water - but not on the plants!! We can now buy sand that has been treated with antkiller to spread on the ground. Ants feed off aphids on plants - they 'milk' them, so check out if there are any aphids and get rid of them!!

But your flowers here are so pretty, you've given them such lovely colours. Super composition with the front and back both showing. Well shown Karina, TFS
Janice

Very nice composition Karina. Beautiful colors, details, very well done. Perfect...

Have fun today.. bye

Hi Karina,
Very nice composition and colours. I am wondering about the grainy texture. May be you sharpened it a bit too much?

Hi! Karina,

When I spotted this image I thought of how it might look using the same effect as Janice used on her "Another Mans Rubbish" image. Although it is a superb shot and needs no alteration at all, I just thought of taking it a step further towards pure illustration.
What I admire the most is the zones of differentiating textures, between the frosted grain effect at back and the clarity of the indigo front. These colours are virtually impossible to record on film but are amazingly strong here.
You choice of composition with its POV, both heads playing to a different audience is superb. Well seen and technically superb!
Mike.

Hi Karina,

Colours, textures and composition offers a great photo. Original and very artistic one. I like a lot. Well work!

Do you speak with the ants? I think that a open dialogue is better than a war.

regards,

ferran

You have come a very long way since your beginnings here. Inventive and all-seeing, with a gift for presentation that many should take as an example and emulate.
Before I forget - take some used coffee grounds. If you don't use grounds at home, any good coffee shop will gladly give you as much as you want, especially at the end of the day. Sprinkle coffee grounds all over your flower beds. Slugs and snails and (probably) ants HATE caffeine. Job done.
Bad News Department:
I'm now in trouble. The office has elevated me to Chief Cook and Bottle-Washer and I am spending a lot of time there and elsewhere in connection with the unwanted job. Thus, after that week off, I don't even have much time left over to catch up at any appreciable rate. I do believe that I will cease posting daily, as every time I put one up, there is more response time to find and more visits/crits to create. Therefore, this one will be the last until I have worked my way through all the outstanding visits I have to make. As a consequence, this part of the reply is a recorded message. Beep.

i like the effect, but i think that the first blue flower should have been the main focal point of this shot, while the other flowers should have been edited out!

the colours are beautiful and vibrant and I hope your mood brightens up!
