Not far from Larnaka lies Stavrovouni (about 20 minutes from my house), a mountain with a monastery on top. Although the mountain is not really high, about 600 meters, you have a magnificent view from the top. This is because it is the only mountain in the area, the rest of the hills are a lot lower.

The monastery is open only for male pilgrims. Female visitors are allowed in the bookshop (when open), and in the church outside the monastery.

The monastery itself is right behind me:) Next time wneh the sun is in a better position I will show it to you :)

The tiny blueish line on the horizon is the Mediteranean Sea:)
The white area on the horizon is Larnaca:)

hope you are having a great day and thank you SO much for your commenst and critiques!

Sounds very sexist!! They'll accept us in the shot because they want our $$$$s!!
Awesome view from up there Karina, and overlooking the fruit trees growing onteh hillside. And hurrah to be able to see the Mediteranean - thank you for showing us a part of the world I don't know much of. Great to see, thank you

Without the tree it would have been just another colourful landscape. You hit it on the spot ...

Very nicely composed, Karina. I like the various layers you have created in this picture with the tree creating a very natural frame for your landscape. The sky seems a little overexposed and a strange bleuish colours but that is a very minor details in otherwise nice picture. Well done!

Dear Karina. How nice we where both donating the Mediterenian sea to our TL friends..You fom this angle and my previous photo from the Sth of France
So this is where you go now and than, to buy and read a book and than later to pray in the Church there, for what you did read.... The photo is great.. that overhaning branche adds/underlines the distance very wel. Thanks for sharing and bye ^_^

P.S. Thank you for your very kind comments.

Very nice landscape in beautiful strong colours. Your inversed L composition is really in the eye. There is a problem with the sky but that has already been commented. I like it a lot and. Nice work

Nicholas
